And don’t forget about the food! French cuisine transcends expectations every time, with a sommelier ready to choose the perfect bottle of French wine. With each region as distinct as its wine, there are countless places to explore. So, if you see yourself watching the sunset behind the Cathédrale Notre-Dame or taking a walk through the lavender fields of Provence, make France, one of the best places to study abroad in the world, your next destination.
Advantages of the country
The diplomas issued by French establishments comply with the standards of the European LMD system, which guarantees their quality at a global level. France offers many different types of diplomas, of varying levels and durations, to accommodate all study plans.
The French state finances around two thirds of the tuition fees of non-European international students, in the public sector. A third therefore remains the responsibility of these students.
Foreign students also benefit from the same advantages as French students for daily living expenses. As a foreign student, you can submit a file to the CAF (Caisse d’Allocations Familiales) to obtain housing assistance and you must be registered with social security for your health expenses! In addition, you will benefit from numerous reduced rates for leisure, transport and catering in the same way as French students!

The long-stay visa serving as a “student” residence permit, abbreviated as VLS-TS “student”, allows you to stay in France for four months to a year in order to pursue higher education. It gives the right to:
travel freely to all Schengen area countries.
work 964 hours per year, or 20 hours per week, to supplement their resources.
benefit from VISALE, the free student rental deposit,
receive a housing allowance from CAF,
extend their stay beyond the validity period of the residence permit issued.
The long-stay visa (VLS) with the “talent-researcher passport” mention allows holders of a master’s level diploma to stay in France to carry out research work or to provide university-level teaching within the framework of an agreement reception.
The temporary long-stay “student” visa, abbreviated as VLS-T “student”, allows you to:
Stay in France from four months to twelve months to pursue higher education;
Travel freely to all Schengen area countries;
Benefit from social security, after registering in a higher education establishment, during your stay and to have part of your health costs reimbursed.
The VLS-T is not validated at the prefecture upon your arrival. You do not have to take any action during the entire validity period of your visa.
No, VLS-T is not renewable. When it expires, you must leave French territory.
If you wish to stay in France to continue your studies while your VLS-TS visa is about to expire, you can request its renewal by sending a request to the prefecture: you will apply for a multi-year residence permit. Everything is done in France two months before your VLS-TS visa expires.
The multi-year residence permit which will be issued to you under certain conditions will have a validity period corresponding to the number of years remaining in the cycle of studies in which you are registered.
For example, if you have completed your first year of license in France, you can benefit from a multi-year residence permit valid for two years, i.e. until the end of the third year of license. If you are studying at a major school, the renewal of your residence permit will be valid until you obtain your diploma.
Embarking on the journey alone can be overwhelming. Jaleos, with its rich experience and expertise in visa processes, is committed to guiding and assisting Nigerian students every step of the way. From document verification to interview preparations, we ensure your French study visa journey is seamless.

If you can imagine enjoying daily siestas and sipping sangria at local tapas bars, then España should be at the top of your personal list of best places to study abroad. Keep occupied in the capital, Madrid, or explore architectural masterpieces like La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Catch a train to discover Basque culture in the north, and join the hikers following the legendary Camino de Santiago all the way to the west coast. In the south, Andalucía reflects a history of Flamenco music and Moorish influence. Granada, Sevilla, Málaga, and Cádiz are sure to impress. And that’s not even to mention the friendly people and buzzing social scene throughout the country! With universities founded as far back as 1218 along with a multifaceted culture, studying abroad in Spain is truly a unique experience. ¡Olé!
Advantages of the country
Spanish is the third most spoken language in the world. As a member of the EU, the university system is based on the LMD. This allows you to obtain the Grado (license) after 4 years, then the Master, which is obtained in 1 or 2 years (depending on the speciality). You obtain a Spanish and European diploma at the end of your course.
The cost of living in Spain is cheaper than many EU countries. No need to pay a fortune for accommodation and food.
The advantage of Spanish private universities is that there is no necessarily need to take an entrance exam. The selection criteria are quite strict but you can, for example, follow medical or veterinary studies in Spain on file directly after the Baccalaureate.
Spain is the fourth most visited country in the world (second in Europe). Thanks to a unique blend of cultural traditions, history, variety of landscapes, climate and quality food.
